The Destiny Ruins is a location and Round 2 in Blinx 2: Masters of Time and Space.

Description

The Destiny Ruins is a world said to be sacred to those who work at the Time Factory, though it is broken into two distinct halves (described as both the past and future space-time worlds intersecting). The first is the past, which appears as a temple replete with statues and stone structures, whereas the second, the future, has more modern features.

The past side appears mostly or entirely devoted to displaying images in the likeness of certain figures, considering the number of statues. These statues are referred to as Guardian Statues, likely due to the fact that destroying a large number of them (they are incredibly fragile) will grant access to Fate's Plaza, which contains the highest point of the past portion of the ruins and a warp gate to the Coliseum, a large arena surrounded by corridors and decorated with flags matching those seen in Time Square (though the nature of this connection is unclear). The Guardian Statues resemble cats such as those who work at the Time Factory, as do other, larger statues found in the ruins. Considering that the Destiny Ruins contains stone tablets dating back to the universe's creation and detailing the Goddesses' relationship with the universe, it is unlikely that any of these statues are meant to represent deities (unless the Goddesses were once depicted as feline before later being depicted as human on the ceiling of the Time Factory's control room). Many lethal traps adorn the past side as well, presumably to guard treasures such as the time control neutralizer from thieves such as the Tom Toms (though it was unsuccessful, as Squealer's was able to steal it during the Big Crystal incident).

Despite being a separate portion of the world with certain distinctions (such as writing in modern script, unlike the script in the past half that must be translated), the future half has numerous connections to the past half, allowing both travel between the two halves and interactions between the two while remaining in one. During the Big Crystal incident, for example, Blinx's team travelled to the future half and found a pair of switches, with one labelled “Destroy the Plaza” and another labelled “Clear the Path,” both of which could be read. When the latter switch was pulled, Fate's Plaza began to crumble apart in the past half, though this mistake was undone by a rewind. Why the functions of the switches were switched is unclear. Shortly after, the team finds a warp gate that leads back to the past side, leading to the encounter with Team Eat or Die.
